Ambassador Article 3
We've been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to help us further our reach across the UK.
We’re delighted to share that Trekstock has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to further our reach across the UK. We want to say a big thank you to the Lottery and its fantastic players. We have been awarded over £482,000 over the next three years to help us make a transformational impact on the lives of young people facing cancer in their 20s and 30s.
It's thanks to the players of The National Lottery and to The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes, that we will be able to reach and support more people in their 20s or 30s hearing the words ‘it’s cancer’ and give them the age-appropriate support they need when they need us most.
Sophie Epstone, Trekstock Founder and CEO, said:
“Over the past three decades, cancer rates have risen faster for 25-29 year olds than any other age group, and every day 38 young people in the UK are diagnosed. This transformational funding will mean that Trekstock can meet this ever-increasing need, providing support to more young people across the UK, to improve their quality of life. I want to say a huge thank you to The National Lottery and its players, and also to Trekstock’s incredible team, our Young Adult Ambassadors and community, together we can ensure no one faces cancer alone.”
Our community is at the heart of all we do, informing, influencing, and shaping our work and future direction.
We’re ready to hit the ground running in the New Year and excited to see what we can achieve, thanks to the support of the National Lottery Community Fund, and the invaluable awareness that this funding will bring. Our focus will be expanding our reach, and making sure we’re able to offer support where and when people need us most, whatever age, stage of cancer, and wherever they are in the UK.
