Remembering Trekstock Ambassador Liam Payne
We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Trekstock Ambassador Liam Payne in October. Liam generously donated his time and energies to supporting us in the early days, and for that we will always be grateful.

In 2013, when the pair became charity Ambassadors, Liam and Harry Styles joined together to provide a once in a lifetime experience to their fans. The prize? A double date with the duo. The two winners jetted into London from California and were treated to lunch, luxury shopping and a dinner date with the boys.
After spending the afternoon with us to make a short film with Trekstock's Young Adult Ambassadors, Liam said:
"It's a shocking fact that one in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetimes. 300,000 people are diagnosed in the UK alone. I always find when I work with Trekstock, I learn something new about what people have to go through. It's not just the disease side of things, it's about things you don't even begin to think about".
To celebrate his own birthday in 2013, Liam also encouraged his fans to donate to Trekstock instead of buying gifts to celebrate his 20th.
He took to Twitter to call on fans to donate saying: "Good morning everyone :) can’t quite believe my life there’s no bigger birthday present than what you’ve done for me in 3 years thank you xx If anyone was planning on buying me anything this is the 1st place u should go http://trekstock.com/donate-now you could make difference to somebody," he added.
Not only that, in 2015 Liam took time out to co-host a Great Gatsby Ball in London, once again spending time with Trekstock's community of Young Adult Ambassadors.
The event raised thousands for Trekstock and was generously supported by Liam's closest family and friends.
Since our event with Liam in 2015, the numbers have changed. Now 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer. Over 14,600 people in their 20s or 30s are diagnosed every year in the UK.
Liam's support over the years has enabled us to develop a range of programmes that get people living alongside cancer connected, active, informed and heard at an important time in their lives.
"The entire Trekstock team extends our deepest condolences to Liam's family and friends during this heartbreaking time. We are eternally grateful for Liam's unwavering support. It really has been instrumental in our growth and ability to provide crucial services to so many young people impacted by cancer. Liam's legacy will live on through the lives of those we continue to help." Sophie, Founder & CEO
