Our Ambitions HEARING THE WORDS "YOU HAVE CANCER" CHANGES EVERYTHING. Cancer is hard to cope with at any age, but harder still in your 20s or 30s - an age of possibility and promise. We exist to make sure those on the receiving end of these life changing words have the support they need to thrive during treatment and beyond their diagnosis. At Trekstock, we change lives by empowering people in their 20s or 30s to live their best life with and beyond cancer. And these are our ambitions for the next three years. WHAT ARE OUR AMBITIONS? We want every person in their 20s or 30s who hears the words "you have cancer" to hear the words "have you heard of Trekstock?" straight after. We aim to: Expand our reach into four key UK cities - London, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow. Reach diverse communities more effectively. Our current community is majority female (88%), white and from the Southeast. Only 17% of those who find out about us are from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Grow UK-wide partnerships to make sure our services are embedded in other service’s work with young people living with cancer. Further increase awareness of physical activity as a key wellbeing tool for those diagnosed with cancer, and be known as a champion for specific and relevant programmes devised by cancer rehabilitation experts. Continue tackling health inequalities for our community, lobbying for change. THE IMPACT OF OUR PLANS We aim to: Each year, reach 12% more young people diagnosed with cancer Ensure that 60% of people diagnosed with cancer in their 20s or 30s engage with the services we offer Increase the number of men who hear of and engage with us Increase the number of people from global majority communities who access our services Increase the number of LGBTQ+ people who hear of us and engage with our services Ensure that people of all backgrounds who are in their 20s and 30s, living with cancer, get and stay active safely Consistently hear back from our community that they feel less alone, more connected with others and feel more confident about their life after a cancer diagnosis Ensure that young people in our community feel more informed, more empowered and hopeful about their options and long-term health HOW YOU CAN HELP We need inspiring partners to help achieve our ambitions and reach as many young people living with cancer as possible.
