Coalitions, Campaigns, Advocacy Here are the coalitions and campaigns we're part of to facilitate our advocacy work Ensuring that the needs of young people with cancer are represented regionally and nationally is best done in partnership and collaboration with other organisations and we work hard to ensure that we advocate for our community in relevant coalitions and campaigns. One Cancer Voice One Cancer Voice is a coalition of over 40 cancer charities who collaborate on the issues that affect all cancer patients. We recognise that our voice is stronger together and work across the sector to call for change. Together we can make sure that all cancer patients get the care and support they need and deserve and the things that matter most to them are elevated to the top of the agenda. Cancer52 Cancer 52 is the voice of rare and less common cancers. An alliance of over 100 organisations, we work on behalf of those cancers that are often under-represented in services, policy and research. Cancer52's main focus is charities working together to improve aspects of inequalities within the cancer sector at every stage from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. Right now, we're particularly looking at best practice around early menopause, establishing how big the problem is and advocating for better care. The ultimate aim is to improve outcomes for patients and their families. Children and Young People with Cancer Coalition The Children and Young People with Cancer Coalition (CYPCC) is a CEO-led charity coalition. Made up of 14 founding organisations, it aims to make things better for children and young people facing cancer by speaking up on the most important issues, creating a unified voice and supporting each other at both charity and CEO level. Steering group for All Party Parliamentary Group We're part of an important steering group for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on cancer, which explores and advocates for many areas. Currently, it is examining the high cost of travel to treatment (71% of young people and families say they are struggling to meet the costs of travelling to treatment according to Young Lives vs Cancer) and the mental health impact of cancer treatment on young people. Steering Group for Psychosocial Support We were part of the small group of charities asked to be part of the Steering Group for Psychosocial Support for NHS England, which worked to decide on six recommendations which went to the National Cancer Board for cancer alliances to deliver psychosocial support to cancer patients.
