Trekstock donates it's profits in support of Cancer Research UK's research into cancers that affect children and teenagers. We raise funds by creating the best music events, fashion collaborations and treks.

We also raise awareness through our little blue badges!

Through our new partnership with Cancer Research UK, Trekstock aims to raise awareness of cancer in young people, ensure young people with cancer get the information they need about their disease and raise money to help fund research in to the cancers which specifically affect this age group.

About cancers in children, teenagers and young adults

Although childhood cancer is rare, it is the most common cause of death from illness in children aged 0-14. Leukaemia is the most common cancer in children, accounting for around a third of all cases. Tumours of the central nervous system (the brain and spine) account for another quarter, and lymphomas a tenth of cases in children. The other types of children's cancer are very rare.

Teenagers and young adults tend to develop a mixture of certain childhood and adult cancers. Hodgkin's lymphoma is the most common form of cancer in 15-24 year olds, accounting for around 15% of all cases. Other common cancers in this age group include brain cancer, testicular cancer, leukaemia and skin cancer.

Thanks to major advances in treatment, around three quarters of children, teenagers and young adults with cancer are now successfully treated. But around 3,500 people in this age group are diagnosed with cancer annually in the UK and the disease claims more than 600 lives each year.

About our partner Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is not only the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research, but they are also the largest funder of research into children's cancer in the UK. Over half of this funding is focused on research into cancers that also affect teenagers which is why Trekstock is so excited to be partnering with Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK's ground breaking work has saved millions of lives across the world. Over the next decade they aim to save many more and by supporting Trekstock, you will be helping to fund research into cancers that affect young children and teenagers.

One example of the work that Cancer Research UK funds is a project in Manchester where researchers are trying to identify possible causes of cancer in children, teenagers and young adults. The knowledge gained from this research will form the foundations for new treatments, and will help find new ways to prevent and detect these types of cancer.

In Leeds, Cancer Research UK is testing different treatments for a rare type of cancer called Ewing's sarcoma. Ewing's sarcoma is usually found in the bones and is most common in children, teenagers and young adults. The research aims to find which treatment is most effective to improve survival for the disease.
